Pipette
Is there a sterile version of the TipTub?
No. TipTubs are available in packs of ten with a lid. They are autoclavable, but not sterile (order no.: 0030 058 607)
What is the TipTub made of?
Both the TipTub and the lid are made of polypropylene.
Is the Response pipetts autoclavable?
No. This applies to both the single- and multi-channel pipette.
Are Varipette 4720 and the accompanying Varitips resistant to 40% iron trichloride?
Yes.
Are your pipettes free of nucleic acids?
We are unable to guarantee this 100 %. Although all safety and hygienic precautions are observed during production, no specific action is undertaken to prevent the infiltration of human nucleic acid. To ensure sterility and to protect your pipettes from contamination, we recommend using positive-displacement pipettes (e.g. our Biomaster) or Filtertips.
What can you recommend as regards handling viscous liquids?
Our recommendation:
1) Biomaster pipette with Mastertips
(positive-displacement principle)
2) Reverse pipetting
(see page 106 of General Catalogue 1999 or page 160 of Main Catalogue 2000)
3) Multipette plus
Is Pipette 3110 (Research) autoclavable?
The complete lower part of Pipette 3110 is autoclavable. Pull off / unscrew the ejection sleeve and disassemble the lower part using the tool provided. The pipette can also be decontaminated using UV light.
What is the best way to pipette chloroform?
The most suitable tool is a positive-displacement pipette, such as Biomaster (with Mastertips) or Multipette plus (with Combitips). Useful information on pipetting techniques can be found on page 160 of our Main Catalogue 2000.
How do I change the battery of Response 4850?
The customer cannot change the battery themselves. Instead, the pipette must be sent to the service partner responsible for changing batteries.
